Developed and maintained embedded firmware for the Energy Storage System (PIC Assembly) and the Vehicle Management System (Linux, C, ARM Assembly), as well as tools and simulators for both systems (Perl/Tk). Also responsible for creating and maintaining a vehicle information database, as well as user and vehicle interfaces to the database (Perl, PHP, MySQL, C).

Responsible for developing automated test facility software (C++, Perl, VHDL). Supported development, testing and debugging of SpaceWire firmware and drivers (C, VHDL). Developed assembler for in-house CPU (Lex, Yacc). Developed interface and test software for precision temperature measurement system (C, VHDL). Formerly assigned to the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program in support of the Life Extension project as well as Weapon System Engineering US & UK Operations. Also assisted with PDR preparation for the Low Cost Test Missile Kit project, updated legacy simulation software for the JIMO project, and implemented an engineering tools website for FBM Systems Engineering. Top Secret/SCI (SSBI, Polygraph) clearance awarded September 13, 2004.

Assisted graduate students and staff in design and construction projects in support of Ranger Telerobotic Space Vehicle project.  Responsible for design and construction of neutral buoyancy simulation hardware.

                                          Charter Member

 

Student project to design, build, and launch a hybrid sounding rocket to 150,000 feet. Responsible for design and construction of motor testing equipment and data acquisition systems.

        MAST CubeSat Project

 

Graduate design class to develop, build, launch and operate a PicoSat class satellite.  Worked with Tethers Unlimited, Inc to develop a 3-cube tether deployment and inspection system. Responsible for design, development and fabrication of electronics hardware and software. Hardware included PIC microprocessor, 1GB FLASH, CMOS imager, brushless DC motor drivers, power system and radio and GPS interfaces.

Thesis focused on development and test of a custom low-cost UAV airframe and off-the-shelf electronics. Explored feasibility of University development of a small scale, low-cost system for commercial and military use. Development included integration of electronics and airframe, power system development, and test development and execution. Supervised two undergraduate assistants. TeacherÕs Assistant for freshmen Computer Science class. Developed OpenGL-based rigid-body dynamics simulation.
